I can just imagine it: A nice royal party going on and suddenly a twenty foot tall earth elemental the size of a small hill emerges from the floor. The reply draws the attention of Haydith, who hadn’t originally seen Nameless leaving. Adal nods slowly and says, “I’ve got no intention of raising an alarm without more justification, but I do want to investigate this further. Thank you for all the information. I think it’s best if you return to the party. I’ll inform a couple of reliable people to keep an eye out for anything suspicious. Please do so too, and if you see anything, do nothing but simply let me know. Unless you think there’s the danger of violence, in which case I’ll leave things to your discretion.” He smiles thinly. “I hope it won’t come to that. Thank you again.” Adal gestures to indicate that Nameless should return the way they came out, turns and heads down the corridor.

Kamran’s face quickly runs through the various stages – and a combination – of surprise, mild shock, delight and amusement. So what does Luna do? Turn into a bird or something and fly back? Kamran did arrange for the carriage to be ready to take her back if she wants, so that's an option too (maybe there's more candy in there!). Or she could just turn into a poodle and case the manor. Or his mother's bedroom. Or Flame Strike something. Lots of options.

Turn into a bird, poop on his forehead, turn into a poodle, hump his leg (and pee), then turn into a bear and sleep in his mothers bed.

Well, before I turn into a bird and wing it back, I want to "unobtrusively" sneak around and look around for any private correspondance that might shed light onto the situation... and checking for secret anything ... and generally being nosy and curious!! I'll start in the bedroom. and then see if she has her own study or library.

Mostly i'm looking for revealing or explanatory evidence - but if I see something cool (and or incriminating... I may want to play with it! ) (Just to test it mind you!) If it's very complicated - it might need to be played with back at base camp. But... I haven't found anything yet!!

Well, then - here is what Luna finds:

The bedroom that Kamran and she are in is a large and spacious one, which can be divided into two by a large pair of curtains, with the bed and a dressing area on one side and a comfortable sitting area on the other. The sitting area also includes a large desk. Shelves on either side of the curtains hold a very eclectic collection of books, ranging from lurid romances ("Kiss of the Changeling") to political satire (Kessler's "The Five Ducks") to historical studies ("Last Days of the Great War") to esoteric magical texts ("Bakua's Manual of the Planes").

After padding around the chamber carefully and examining it magically and otherwise, Luna finds a few things. Two of the drawers on the desk are unlocked and contain writing parapernalia, some files with business and other papers, etc. Two other drawers are locked, both with minor abjuration auras on them. One contains something within which also has an abjuration aura and a few other auras (all minor in power). There is also a spot behind a bookshelf (one near the bed) where there are minor abjuration and illusion auras, but Luna can't work out how to get to it without moving the entire bookshelf. The dressing table too has a couple of locked drawers but some others are open, containing cosmetics and a small collection of tasteful jewelry, with a couple of fairly costly pieces (if not by the current standards of the Angels). There are two locked closets, one on either side of the dressing table.

OOC: And if she searches carefully enough through the romances, she does find shifter porn. Just in case Luna needed some for those long lonely nights when there's no gnome nearby.

And for those of you back at the party:

The party winds down gradually and about an hour after Luna disappeared, Haydith and Aurala bid goodbye to each other. The princess and her entourage head back to their quarters. After all, there is a busy day tomorrow before Haydith makes her departure.

There's still no sign of Luna. On the positive side, nobody has returned screaming, bleeding, or on fire, to report on her whereasbouts.

Darn it! Oh well... I'll wing it back and tell the group about the desired meeting.

OMG Luna is stealing from people, nobility at that. Someone put Gareth out of his misery - Julia, if Luna get's caught you do realize Gareth will not be protecting you on the diplomatic or legal circuit right?

As the party starts to slow down and people filter their way home Gareth says his goodbyes to the people he is speaking with and falls in line behind Haydith, whispering to her "I hope you enjoyed your evening. Is there anything else you would like to do before we head back to your quarters?"

I didn't take anything!! There was nothing even worth taking! (readily avail) But it would be stupid to not look!!

Amazingly, Luna has evidently left without taking anything. I must work on my baiting.

Haydith glances sideways at Gareth and whispers back, a hint of mischief in her voice, "I can think of a couple of things, but then we'd have to lose the rest of your friends and all of my escort, which might draw a little attention. Talk to me about it when we get to Korth." She giggles softly and then looks away.

The Angels arrive back in their rooms and make preparations to turn in. About half an hour after they do so, whoever is unfortunate enough to have drawn the short straw (i.e. to be rooming with Luna) is awakened by the sound of a large bird squeezing itself through the bars on the window. With the inevitability of death and taxes, Luna has returned.

OOC: Julia, does Luna wake everyone and tell them what she's been up to? Just tell whoever is in the room with her? Something else?

So, Shil, will you treat Luna like a Kender where things "mysteriously" jump into her pockets? I think you should - give her a 10% chance of unknowingly (or at least her subconscious mind justifies the suppression of the act because it is a shiny trinket) stealing something.

I will tell anyone who is up about it - and Gareth - if he is or isn't. Since he loves to talk to useless boring people!

Can't argue with that. The difference between treasure and theft is the alignment (or motiviation) towards the group.
