During the Springlight Festival (retroactive)

Here's the thread for dealing with what Rowan does during the Festival (and anything anyone else comes up with).

The day after Leonis' date with Quintessa, Rowan gets an invitation to dine with Baron Irovetti after the first round of the mage duels and before the occurrence of the Midnight Joust. Kara and Hannis had been invited in tandem to join Irovetti the previous night, but this time it seems Rowan will be the only one doing so.

Rowan will send a reply that she would be delighted to dine with Baron Irovetti.

During most of the festival, Rowan dresses in fine but practical clothes, designed to create more of an impression of strength and confidence than sex appeal, while still showing off her beauty. She'll wear something more courtly and revealing to their private dinner.

I don't think we roleplayed out Rowan's going to talk to the various bards and entertainers. She would do so after the boasting duel. She'll even approach Grigori, to potentially hire him to spread good stories about Khatovar (and her). And to subtly threaten him to not make her look like an idiot in the story he'll inevitably tell about the mage duel.

On the night in question, Nunzia Arpaia arrives with a small escort to accompany Rowan to her dinner with Irovetti. When they arrive at the baron's pavilion, Nunzia leads Rowan through the entrance into the antechamber. Rather than heading towards the dining room where Rowan and her companions had dined with Irovetti and Hannis Drelev, Nunzia leads her in the opposite direction, to the lavish sitting room where they had first met Irovetti, stopping at the door while Rowan passes through. The room, as on the previous occasion, is evidently warded with a mage's private sanctum spell.

The baron is waiting there, dressed to the nines as usual, but alone this time. The room has also seen a little modification, with the comfortable couches brought closer together and accompanied by a larger table already laden with the paraphernalia for dining, so that one would be able to eat here, while sitting or even reclining comfortably.

Irovetti, who is sitting back on one of the couches and reading some documents, rises with a quick smile when Rowan arrives, picking up the papers and putting them into a pouch on his belt. "Ah, my dear Rowan," he says, taking her hand and bowing to kiss it, "You look absolutely radiant. May I offer you a drink?" He gestures at a side table holding some beverages.

The entertainers, whether those in the Phiarlan Carnival of Shadows or those competing in the competition, are quite happy to talk and chat with Rowan. The one who seems particularly interested is Annamede Belvarah, the half-elven satirist from Pitax who actually won the competition, whom she'd exchanged a few words with during the group dinner for the competitors.

"It's quite an honor to meet and compete with one of the rulers of the Stolen Lands - or so I'm told," says Annamede, eyes twinkling mischievously. "After all I've heard, I've actually been considering traveling to Khatovar and seeing it for myself. Irovetti'd certainly be relieved if I do," she says, chuckling at the thought. "But then again - you might not be that keen to have a particularly 'witty and acerbic harpy who loves to rail at those above her'--as one of my, ahem, fans once said--wandering around." She looks curiously at Rowan. "Or would you?"

Grigori, not surprisingly, shows absolutely no interest in being hired when Rowan broaches the subject to him, growling something about how she can't scare him when she subtly threatens him. But Rowan gets the sense that he is genuinely scared of her, with the bluster being his normal manner of responding when uncomfortable.
